Fiber discs are made of a vulcanized fiber backing that's coated with resin and abrasive grain on one side. They have several advantages over other grinding discs,

• Grinding: Fiber discs can be used for rough machining and finish grinding on metal surfaces. They can be mounted on a right angle sander or angle grinder. 
• Weld removal: Fiber discs can be used to remove welds from metal surfaces. 
• Deburring: Fiber discs can be used for deburring. 
• Rust removal: Fiber discs can be used to remove rust from metal surfaces. 
• Finishing weld seams: Fiber discs can be used to finish weld seams.
